I’ll be Home for CNY!

Friday, December 29th, 2006

Wooohoooo! My flight back to Malaysia is finally booked! We did not wait for Matta Fair, can’t wait till March, sebab saya mau balik rumah raya Cina!(can you feel my desperateness?) :p  Anyway, special thanks to my lovely hubby, this is the best and the most expensive Christmas present I’ve ever received in my life! I am so so happy, can’t wait to be home again (I have 2 homes now, good to be married, hahaha)… So excited thinking of all the food I can eat back in Malaysia, drooling… hehehe…
Ok, now back to the details. I will depart here from Frankfurt on 23rd February 2pm, and arrive in KLIA on 24th February 3pm. I know 24th is already the 7th day of CNY, but there is no way for me to fly earlier. My ‘Zertifikat Deutsch’ (Certificate German) final exam falls on 21st of February, and after that I want to go shop for some souvenirs! Hopefully can get some nice souvenirs la, chocolate and candy etc etc…
Ohh I forgot to share with you all that I have got myself a new hairstyle. Yup, I went to one of the hairsalons here 2 weeks ago, and now I do not have long hair like last time anymore… look below:

Ok, Christmas was over. We dis not have White Christmas this year (somehow the weather is kinda strange here, not snowing yet…). I was at my in-laws’ place, and like last year, we had dinner together and then everyone unpacked the presents! This year I got so many funny stuffs from Vik’s parents and sister, other than chocolate (which is a very common Christmas present here), I received a Tom Tailor baby-T and underpants (hahahaha), deodarant spray, Party Scrabble (German version), and one brown pullover. And finally, a few more pictures of our appartment. We got ourselves some new furniture before Christmas, but still need a new carpet and sofa for the living room.

Ok, that is all for this time. I want to wish all of you a very blessed and happy new year 2007, have fun thinking of your new year resolutions (for those who believe in this), stay cheerful and live your life to the fullest! I love you all!

Ok, NO broadband yet… hehe, but I think that is a GOOD thing as well, as during this time, I have get to know more people, more out-going. I am "forced" to not sit in front of my computer, but get out and do something with my friends.
I am now sitting in Mischa’s room. He is now discussing something serious with my best friend here, Michelle. Many things have happened few weeks ago. I introduced Michelle to Mischa, they are both the people I love here in Germany. And Mischa is very much attracted to her, he is persuing her, but Michelle has told me much about her stories in the past, and she is not really looking for a boyfriend… Anyway, I wish them all the best, whether they will get together or not, it is up to them.
So now back to me… few weeks ago I was in Munich with Vik. He was there for training, and I just skipped school and followed him there (because I wanted to use the broadband connection, hahaha, silly right?) So during that 5 days I have sent 5 job applications, 4 in UK and 1 in Germany. Out of this 5, I got 1 positive reply. Wai Yin Chinese Community Centre in Manchester has invited me to go for interview, for the position of Young Person Mental Health Link Worker. I was extremely excited at first, because I am actually underqualified… Anyway, Vik said "go". Then I was happily preparing my case study (for the interview). Unfortunately, yesterday I have decided not to go. Reasons? First, money. There are no direct flights from Frankfurt to Manchester (I mean cheap flights, normal ones from British Air cost about 400 Euro, normally Ryanair has something for about 20 Euro, but somehow not this month). And to travel by other means will cost me too much time and effort. Too bad they can’t support my travel expenses (unlike in Germany). Second, the more I thought of myself staying there alone without Vik, the more fear I feel. Third, if I go, then my German will be hanging half way in the air…  So, Rebecca is not going to Manchester, she is going to stay in Germany with her husband :p
Yup, to Selena, I miss you very much as well. When I was in Munich you were busy in Penang, we didn’t get to chat on MSN. Anyway, here is my address:
Flughafenstraße 2, Appartment 159, 64347 Griesheim, Hessen, Germany.
Oh and please write my name in English, Rebecca Tan. TAN is most important, because without writing my family name, the letter will go back to you…
All right, I have to go soon… All my friends back home, I miss you all! Will try to update myself and post more pictures here next time! Muaks! :p
